Ready Set Sports is thrilled to announce our Middle School Basketball League starting Friday, February 6, 2026! This 7-week program, complete with AAU-style playoffs, is designed for boys and girls ready to elevate their game in a fun, competitive, and supportive environment.

• Rules: Middle school regulations (6th, 7th & 8th grade), full-length court games

RSS Middle School Basketball League – Rules

 

Game Format

 

• Four 10 minute quarters (running clock, stops in last 1 minute of 2nd and 4th quarter).

• Two minute break for halftime.

• 2 timeouts per half (do not carry over).

 

Equipment

 

• Official 29.5” ball (boys and girls divisions).

• Teams must wear assigned RSS uniforms.

• Proper sneakers required; jewelry not permitted.

 

Gameplay Rules

 

• Standard high school rules apply with the following modifications:

   

  • Pressing allowed

  • Each player must play at least two full quarter (unless injured or disciplinary reason).

 

Fouls & Free Throws

 

• No fouling out = Repeated offenses could lead to disqualification.

• 1-and-1 bonus begins at 7 team fouls per half; double bonus at 10.

• Free throws will be played as live balls after the release.

 

Overtime

 

• 2-minute overtime if tied.

• 1 timeout per team in overtime (no carryovers).

• Sudden death if still tied after first OT period.

 

Sportsmanship

 

• Coaches, players, and parents are expected to uphold the RSS Core Values: Respect, Accountability, Discipline, Integrity, Commitment, Communication, Growth, and Family.

• Poor sportsmanship from players, coaches, or spectators may result in ejection and/or suspension.
